The Committee for Science, Education and Culture of the National Council (CSEC-N) supports the federal decree on the 2038 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (26.054) in the overall vote by 21 votes to 2, with 2 abstentions. It proposes various additions, in particular on sustainability, accessibility, regional products, reporting and democratic procedures. A minority rejects the federal decree in the overall vote.
Switzerland’s birth rate is at the lowest level measured to date. Persistently low birth rates curb growth in the domestic working-age population and accelerate population ageing.
