Subject of the initiative
The Trademark Protection Act must stipulate that only products manufactured or processed in Switzerland may bear the Swiss cross. This legal clarification must enshrine the following principles: the Swiss cross may be used for the information referred to in Article 47 paragraph 3 ter of the Trademark Protection Act, provided that the processing or manufacturing that gives the product its essential characteristics actually takes place in Switzerland. If the processing or manufacturing that gives the product its essential characteristics takes place abroad, references to activities in Switzerland shall only be permitted in textual form and without the use of the Swiss cross.
