At the same time, 67 rail projects that have already been approved are no longer to be implemented, including the Thun Nord S-Bahn stop for 37,1 Mio.Fr.

Many of these projects have been coordinated for years with the spatial, settlement and site development of the Confederation, cantons, regions and municipalities.

The Thun Nord stop is emblematic of such projects. It is a central element of the Premium-ESP Thun Nord, with long-term potential for up to 8500 jobs, including for the Armed Forces as well as research and technology institutions. Important infrastructure such as the Thun Nord bypass has already been completed. The stop was therefore included in the 2035 expansion programme.

Its cancellation raises fundamental questions about planning certainty and the consideration of long-term development goals.
