Revision of food law ordinances The last major revision of various food law ordinances came into force on 1 February 2024. Food law requires continuous revision; otherwise, new barriers to trade with the EU arise and protection of health and protection against deception are no longer fully guaranteed. The forthcoming revision aims at further comprehensive harmonisation with EU law. This revision also implements Schneider motion 23.3408 «Neuartige Lebensmittel testen und bewilligen. Förderung der Innovation in der Schweiz». Opening date: 13 October 2026 Consultation deadline: 27 January 2027
