Agreement on climate change, trade and sustainability: consultation concluded
The National Council had already given its approval in September 2025. At the request of the Council of States’ committee responsible for the preliminary examination, the Federal Council conducted a consultation on the proposal from 1 April to 8 June 2026. Of the 45 statements submitted, 42 support the proposal, while three reject it. The broad support extends across the cantons, political parties, economic, energy, environmental and sustainability associations, as well as other interested parties.
