The assessments in the title, lead and following paragraphs, reproduced verbatim in the original version, come from the Federal Council’s press release.
On 26 November 2025, the Federal Council had approved a package of 60 measures to strengthen the competitiveness of the Swiss economy. The package aims to ease the burden on businesses arising from existing regulations and to limit additional burdens from new regulatory proposals as far as possible. The measures concern various regulatory areas across all departments. An estimated minimum of 20 per cent of businesses in Switzerland can benefit from reductions in burdens.
Almost a year after the decision, the overall picture is positive: 16 measures have already been implemented, while work on a further 39 continues. This means that more than 90 per cent of the measures have been completed or are being implemented. Five of the measures have so far been unable to be implemented or have only been able to be partially implemented.
