Rewetting, daylighted streams and wetlands can retain water in forests for longer. Is the Federal Council prepared to attach greater importance to water retention as an independent measure for adapting forests to climate change and to promote it more specifically in the Forest Programme Agreement 2029–2032? Can it envisage giving the cantons a binding mandate in the Forest Act?
