The cantons are to remain responsible for implementation. In future, accommodation providers will also be able to submit the report to the authorities electronically and without the guest’s signature. In that case, accommodation providers must check whether the guest data match the identity document presented. The digital solution for the reporting system is to be implemented on the EasyGov platform. This is intended to make it easier for cantons without a digital reporting system to enable accommodation establishments to report guest data digitally. Cantons that already have established and well-functioning digital reporting systems may continue to use them. The consultation procedure runs until 27 November 2026.
