Deep geological repository: are compensation payments a prerequisite?
Federal Councillor Rösti stated in Weiach on 7 September 2026 that he could hardly imagine the Federal Council approving an application for a general licence in which the host region came away empty-handed (see https://t1p.de/0deow , as of 08.09.2026, 12:40). - Can the Federal Council confirm that it will grant the general licence for Nördlich Lägern only if a binding compensation agreement with the host region is in place? - If not, how is this statement to be understood?
