Salmonella have been detected in Coop Naturaplan Bio Crevetten Jumbo 120 g and Bio Crevetten Cocktail 150 g. A health risk cannot be ruled out. The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) recommends that the affected products not be consumed. Coop has immediately withdrawn them from sale and initiated a recall.
Salmonella are bacteria that cause disease in humans and animals (zoonotic pathogens). In humans, fever and digestive symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain may occur within 6 to 72 hours after consumption.
