  1. AI assistance for the Swiss Parliament: PIA enters pilot phase

At its meeting on Friday, 4 September 2026, the Administrative Delegation (AD) therefore approved PIA’s pilot operation, which will last around one year. PIA stands for «Parlamenti Intelligentia Artificialis» – in German «Künstliche Intelligenz des Parlaments» (translation: «Artificial Intelligence of Parliament»). Depending on the intensity of use, costs of up to a maximum of 150,000 francs are planned for the pilot operation and will be covered through the existing IT budget of the Parliamentary Services. PIA is aimed at Members of Parliament, their personal staff, group staff and staff of the Parliamentary Services. The tool will be introduced in the autumn session of 2026.

  2. eSchKG: debt enforcement offices to provide statistical data as early as September

The cantonal debt enforcement offices will now have to submit their statistical data relating to the use of the electronic debt enforcement platform by 30 September. This ensures that the cantons can be invoiced in good time for the fees for using eSchKG for the current financial year. The revised FDJP Ordinance on electronic transmission in debt enforcement will enter into force on 15 September 2026.
