How does the Federal Council address looming mass unemployment due to AI?
The KOF writes: «dass generative KI hinter dem zuletzt beobachteten Anstieg der Arbeitslosigkeit in einigen stark KI-exponierten Berufen steht» (that generative AI is behind the recently observed rise in unemployment in some occupations highly exposed to AI). Various sectors are under massive pressure from AI. Ultimately, no one knows how developments will continue. It is quite possible that the world of work will be thoroughly reshaped over the coming years and that Switzerland will face hundreds of thousands of unemployed people. – How does the Federal Council intend to deal with such a situation? – Does it consider Switzerland prepared for it?
