The Federal Council therefore requests Parliament to increase the forest credit for 2027 by 17.5 million Swiss francs. From 2028, the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) is to be authorised to request additional funds in the same amount each year. In addition, funding for operating assistance under Article 78 et seq. of the Agriculture Act is to be increased by 54 million Swiss francs as a one-off in 2026. With these interest-free loans, the Confederation supports agricultural enterprises in bridging liquidity shortfalls caused by drought.
