From the FOPH press release

FOPH is in close coordination with the University Hospitals of Geneva and Zurich as well as with the authorities of both cantons and is coordinating with them on an ongoing basis.

Since 2019, there have been two reference hospitals in Switzerland set up for the treatment of diseases such as Ebola: the University Hospital of Zurich and the University Hospital of Geneva. They have the necessary infrastructure (isolation wards) and trained medical staff to admit patients affected by these diseases.

The Ebola virus causes a severe viral infectious disease. Transmission occurs through close contact with a patient showing symptoms or with an infected animal.

In a phone call with Nigeria's Minister of Health, Muhammad Ali Pate, Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider personally expressed her appreciation. She thanks the medical staff and treating physicians in Nigeria for the good care of the Swiss citizens, as well as the Nigerian authorities and WHO for the close cooperation that made the repatriation possible.
